The greatest reward for a winemaker is the discovery of special vineyards. Having these growers in our portfolio is a very good thing.

This classic but underrated grape hails from Northern Italy. Long overshadowed by its southern cousins Nebbiolo and Sangiovese, Barbera is making great strides in quality.

At one time this Italian variety was thought to be the parent for Zinfandel. It has the same genetic makeup as Zinfandel but the historical record has Zinfandel in California prior to this variety being recorded in southern Italy.

Long known by connoisseurs as one of the great wine grapes in the world, the Spanish grape Tempranillo has remained obscure. When grown in its native Spain, the low yields, long barrel aging and home demand has kept this wine from greater things.

In this blend we sought to make a wine that reflected the culture and tradition of a Mediterranean lifestyle. The romance of the blue sea, stark white buildings and rugged coastline inspired our winemaking team.

The floral fragrance of a Muscat wine is not easily forgotten. In homage to our Italian roots we looked to the region of Asti in Northern Italy for inspiration. There they plant the Moscato Bianco or Muscat Blanc. When that grape was brought here it was called Muscat Canelli. We harvest at what we feel is the perfect ripeness to make this wine such a good aperitif.
